Sorry I haven’t been updating lately – a bunch of computer errors put the kibosh on my last entry, and rather than rewrite it I played Civilization II for several hours. I’m flying back to Chicago in an hour, so in the meantime check out this Tom Tomorrow cartoon.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, I must know: who does this simpleton talk to? In the six months since September 11 a substantial body of criticism has come from the defenders of U.S. policy. A cursory look at Commentary, the National Review, or even the occasional column in Time would reveal exactly what supporters of the war on terrorism are saying. Caricaturing them as thoughtless parrots is, at this point, lazy and defeatist.
